Aerodrome Manual
The Air Navigation & Aerodromes (ANA) Department is responsible for the policy, planning and provision of the regulatory and the safety oversight activities for the United Arab Emirates Civil Air Navigation Service Providers (ANSPs), aerodromes, heliports and flight procedure design organizations. The ANA Department is also responsible for airspace management and approvals of commercial unmanned aviation vehicle operations and activities affecting airspace, such as pyrotechnics and laser light shows.
The manual describes the systematic approach to the operation of the aerodrome, demonstrating our commitment to managing the aerodrome safely and effectively. While accountability starts the top of any organization, it is essential that everyone understands their own responsibilities and accountabilities as defined in the manual.
Course Objectives:
- Understanding of the aerodrome certification process.
- Review the basic provisions found in ICAO Annex 14 Volume I, Aerodrome Design and Operations.
- Review the basic provisions found in GCAA REGULATION PART 139, Aerodrome Design and Operations.
- Discuss guidance related to aerodrome certification (Doc. 9774).
- Identify the GCAA documents published in support of the provision found inGCAR139 Discuss other guidance associated with the aerodrome certification
